For years I’ve done freelance editing on documents. Those who purchased my services never stopped to ask why I did it. The truth is, I just plain enjoy it. I’ve always enjoyed bringing beauty out of chaos and also have a lifetime interest in books, publishing, and writing, so I suppose it was just natural for me to migrate towards editing. I love helping people become better writers. I’ve edited dissertations, psychological articles, and been editor for two nonprofit newsletters, The Raven (St. Elias Orthodox Church) and InFormation (The Holy Cross Institute at St. Edward’s University). In addition, I’ve worked for more than one publishing house, on both the retail, and wholesale sides, as well as handled circulation and rights and permissions for academic journals at University of Texas Press. I’ve kept my finger in the pie by working for two church bookstores, even while holding other jobs. I’ve been on literary journal staff. And while editing others’ writing I’ve written a few articles, stories, and essays of my own, not to mention documents and manuals for various employers over the years. On the lighter side, I actually enjoy creating custom business forms, thereby bringing order out of information chaos and lessening the stress of those who need and use them.

Over the years, I’ve learned many ways to edit down in life, whether it be reducing word counts or organizing things, unburying family treasures, or paring down piles of papers. Sometimes it’s meant painfully working on paring down my own bad habits as well, replacing them with better ones.

I’m joining my love of editing, writing, and organizing to provide resources to meet your needs and those of your church or Christian organization.  My goal is to help you be the best you can be.
